In your role as the Sales Representative, Commercial Sales at The North West Company (TNWC); you will secure new orders from existing and new customers. You will participate in the development and execution of marketing plans and initiatives based on consumer, demographic, and sales market data, along with feedback from the field.

Your Role:
Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse customer groups, local stakeholders, and community leaders in northern and remote areas.
Support business development by identifying growth opportunities and contributing to initiatives that improve access to goods, services, and economic development.
Sell a wide range of products including food, general merchandise, and motorsports.
Solicit orders from both new and existing customers through proactive outreach and relationship-building.
Set sales targets and develop strategic plans to achieve them.
Participate in the management of product assortment, pricing, promotions, communications, and interpretation of customer research.
Run and analyze monthly sales reports to monitor progress and inform business decisions.
Attend meetings, conferences, and trade show events across Canada to represent the organization and connect with industry and community stakeholders.
Collaborate with the coordinator to manage end-to-end order planning and shipment execution, ensuring timely and reliable delivery to remote regions.
Work with store managers, the DSO, and internal stakeholders to support seamless operations and align with community needs and priorities.
Actively participate in community events, meetings and gatherings to establish a presence and understand local needs and challenges to ensure strong customer relationships while overseeing territory management.
Desired Skills & Abilities:
Minimum 2 years’ sales experience background.
Strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and a passion for making meaningful impact in underserved regions.
Experience working with Indigenous communities and a strong understanding of the unique challenges faced in northern and remote regions will be considered a significant asset.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Proven ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
Solid organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and assignments.
Must be able to work flexible hours when required.
Great customer service skills.
Ability to excel in a team environment while working well independently.
Must be willing and able to travel to urban centers and remote northern Canadian markets as required (up to 40 days per year).
