Your role as the Maintenance Technician involves providing building and equipment maintenance/repair. You provide support to ensure safety, productivity, and profitability to both Winnipeg warehouse facilities under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Your Role:
- Repairs to facility Conveyors, HVAC, Storage Racking, Door Restraints, Overhead doors, Dock Plates, and Material Handling Equipment i.e. End Riders Short and Long, Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, Counter Balance, Bobcat, Fork Lifts and Aerial Lift.
- Preventative Maintenance of all HVAC, Overhead Doors, Dock Plates, Door Restraints, Industrial Batteries, Conveyors, and Material Handling Equipment i.e. End Riders Short/Long, Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, Counter Balance, Bobcat, Fork Lifts and Aerial Lift.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Previous warehouse experience in maintenance is an asset.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Attend to maintenance requests received by the Maintenance Department for all services or repairs.
- Monitor contractors to ensure duties are performed properly and communicate issues to Maintenance Supervisor and or Maintenance Manager for resolution.
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Current CPR Level C certificate an asset.
- Understand the importance of safety in the workplace / follow all health and safety procedures and policies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned. Undertaking other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as instructed by the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
- Snow removal and Landscaping maintenance as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge and understanding of Fire Alarm systems, Sprinkler systems.
- Ability to understand repair manuals and part procurement.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical, mechanical or HVAC is an asset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively, both under minimal supervision and within a team environment.
- Ability to become certified on Material Handling Equipment.
- Basic Numeracy skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads and staff for assistance.
- Ability to lift 75lbs unassisted and periodically overhead.
- Proficient in reading and writing materials at an intermediate level.
- Class 5 License and reliable vehicle to travel between locations within the city as required.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook.
