In your role as Manager, Business Analysis at The North West Company (TNWC), you will lead a team of Business Analysts responsible for partnering with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements. You will establish and evolve business analysis best practices, ensure consistency and quality across deliverables, and work closely with business leaders, project managers, and technical teams to deliver value across the organization.

Role:
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Business Analysts (staff and contractors) through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
- Allocate BA resources effectively across projects and initiatives while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-accountability team culture.
- Act as a hands-on Business Analyst when required.
- Manage and define the IT unplanned project and enhancement intake process by assessing requests, clarifying business needs, confirming priorities, and balancing workloads across IT resources.
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve Business Analysis methodologies, standards, tools, and documentation practices.
- Ensure quality and consistency of BA deliverables, including requirements, process maps, and user stories, and promote best practices across the organization.
- Partner with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and support data-driven prioritization and roadmap planning.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment between business needs, project objectives, and technical solutions.
- Oversee the full requirements lifecycle, ensuring solutions are clear, complete, testable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, promote operational efficiency, and support user acceptance testing and change management.
- Ensure governance, risk management, and compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, while supporting audits and maintaining transparency and accountability.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Analysis, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in Retail, Distribution, or Inventory Management, with a strong understanding of industry’s best practices and the technologies that support them.
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Windows-based applications, and hands-on experience in business and technical requirements analysis.
- Solid understanding of software design, development, and database fundamentals, with a basic knowledge of model-driven architecture.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Highly self-motivated with strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build stakeholder support and provide effective customer service at all organizational levels.
- Experience with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
