ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Administers the fixed asset accounting process, including the following:
- Approval of fixed asset expenses including assessment of asset vs. repairs and maintenance for all banners
- Coordinate the set-up and review of the FA projects, including approval, routing and PeopleSoft tracking
- Reconciles asset accounts (verifies amounts, ensures the appropriate backup material and investigates queries).
- Reconciles corporate reporting used for board reporting and planning (verifies amounts, ensures proper support is provide, investigates queries, codes and journalizes the costs).
- Reconciles various corporate accounts and responsible for posting monthly journal entries related to fixed asset accounts, including the monthly fixed assets reconciliation.
- Self-assessment of taxes on invoices, holdbacks and appropriate coding and treatment based on project locations, including the international banners
- Assists Manager, Financial Reporting with special projects as required.
- Assists with monthly and quarterly preparation of corporate monthly reporting package issued to executives.
- Completes reports for third parties.
- General office duties, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or a combination of related education and experience (enrolled in an accounting designation program, such as CPA, is an asset)
- Excellent computer skills, with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must possess general office experience and basic data entry skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities while working within strict timelines.
- Must have excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
- Past experiences in handling cash is an asset.
