The North West Company (NWC) has an exciting opportunity to join our Finance and Accounting department as an Accounts Receivable Clerk for the North Star Air (airline) division. In this role, you are responsible for performing various clerical and accounting tasks related to Accounts Receivable such as customer invoicing, journal entries, collections and customer statement preparation. The AR Clerk is a member of the accounting team and provides support to other roles within the department as required.

Your Role:
- Generate and send invoices to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for creating journal entries and vouchers for customer invoices, payments received, or adjustments.
- Record and track incoming payments from customers and verify the accuracy of the payment; applying it to the correct customer account.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
- Prepare customer statements on a regular basis, which provide a summary of outstanding balances and payments made.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of one year of relevant work experience or a degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
- Experience with PeopleSoft is considered an asset.
- Previous aviation experience is considered an asset.
- Must possess accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be capable of maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
