Coordinator-Special Shipment

Status: Regular Full-Time

In your role as the Special Ship Coordinator at The North West Company (NWC) you will coordinate the process for Special Ship store orders for Food and General Merchandise. You will assist the Supervisor, Replenishment in the creation and delivery of Special Ship Store order forms and will create Special Ship Order Recaps and various reports to provide visibility to all parties regarding the movement of Special Ship goods. You will coordinate and oversee the creation and delivery of Order Templates to facilitate purchase order and requisition creation, review of completed purchase orders and requisition to ensure accuracy, and escalate any issues as needed to the Supervisor, Replenishment.

Your Role:

  • Action Pre-Defined Steps of the Special Ship Project Plan.
  • Maintain/update Special Ship Database to facilitate creation of Special Ship Order Forms.
  • Assist with creation of Special Ship Ordering Database
  • Facilitate Purchase Order and Requisition Creation.
  • Assist with the consolidation/loading of the store order forms into the Special Ship Ordering database once received and signed off by appropriate parties.
  • Action tasks/direction received regarding any receiving issues noted from the daily review of Retek receiving status.
  • Coordinate the timely creation of store receiving books.
  • Contact vendors/warehouse as required to follow up specifically with any warehouse 12 special ship stock
  • Assist with the creation of an SOP (scenario based) for the department to assist in resolving all Store Connect Special Ship possible issues.
  • Follow all Service Level Agreements assisting with the Receiving Issue Report(s) and Store Connect Tickets as requested.

Desired Skills & Experience:       
  • Post-secondary education or a combination of education and experience in the supply chain/logistics field.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Access skills.
  • Must be detail conscious while demonstrating a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and assignments under strict timelines and within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service.
  • Working knowledge of how marketing, supply and logistics optimally work together to form a value chain in a retail environment would be considered an asset.
