Senior Project Manager

In your role as the Senior Project Manager, at The North West Company (TNWC), you oversee the engineering and construction of all NWC facilities and ensure they’re constructed or manufactured in the most economical and efficient manner to suit their business requirements.

Your Role:


•Plan annual capital project schedule and identify timelines required to deliver capital plan.
•Identify and validate project proposals versus resources and align projects with appropriate Project Manager.
•Propose a schedule to deliver the projects along with a budgeted dollar amount.
•Ensure all the approvals have been approved on the proposed projects in the capital plan and develop specification for NWC facilities.
•Ensure projects are engineered in line with NWC long term standards and specifications goals and initiatives from cost effectiveness and a utilitarian perspective.
•Ensure the proper energy initiatives are taken into account when designing our facilities to ensure we’re utilizing appropriate technology where applicable to rationalize a return on our investment;
•Ensure we’re ahead of the industry in understanding new energy efficient technologies to generate savings within our stores.
•Oversee capital projects and monitor projects against planned budget and schedule.
•Distribute project ongoing communication and escalate issues appropriately.
•Ensure changes to scope of work are dealt with in accordance and appropriate paperwork is obtained.
•Manage Project Managers/Coordinators in accordance with NWC leadership principles.
•Provide best advice to Supervisor and hold subordinates accountable to their tasks.
•Ensure subordinates have proper resources and capabilities to conduct their tasks.
•Oversee environmental projects and ensure they’re done in a professional and responsible manner.

Requirements:

•A minimum of 8+ years of related experience with construction management and project planning.
•Efficiency with Auto CAD.
•Project Management Professional designation is an asset.
•A related university degree is preferred or a combination of education and related experience is required.
•Knowledge of retail design, construction, and facility management processes is an asset.
•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated proficiency as a project manager able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets.
•Must be able to obtain a passport for international travel and able to travel approximately 100 days per year.
