Manager Communications

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications Manager to join our Corporate Responsibility team. The Communications Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to support our organization's corporate responsibility goals and objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability, social impact, and corporate responsibility, coupled with strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.

Your Role:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy supporting NWC goals and objectives with a focus on North West’s sustainability efforts, community engagement and social impact program.
  • Manage internal and external communications related to corporate responsibility, including media relations, reporting on sustainability efforts, community engagement, and social impact programs.
  • Craft compelling messaging and content for various communication channels, including press releases, websites, social media, and corporate responsibility reports.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel and support to senior management, including assistance with drafting announcements, memos and speaking notes.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels and platforms.
  • Oversee the development and production of communication materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and alignment with corporate responsibility objectives.
  • Manage internal communication channels such as newsletters, intranet, and email communications to keep employees informed and engaged with corporate responsibility initiatives.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives related to corporate responsibility, including events, volunteer programs, town halls and sustainability awareness campaigns.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies in a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing both internal and external communications, including media relations and employee communications.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insightful counsel to senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and proficiency in crafting compelling messaging.
  • Experience in content development and production across various platforms, including digital and traditional media.
  • Proficiency in managing communication channels and tools, with a focus on maintaining consistency and maximizing reach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating communication sessions and events, with a focus on engaging and informing diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with corporate website management, SharePoint, and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of corporate responsibility and sustainability reporting practices.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to coordinate and advise a diverse global team. 
  • Must be able to travel 20 days in a year.
